Mystikal released his first debut album in the year of 1994 which was released on local independent record label and it was basically New Orleans-based Big Boy Records. He signed a deal to Jive Records and in the year 1995, he released his big hit Mind of Mystikal. In the year 1997, signed deal with Master P for "Unpredictable".

"Unpredictable" also had seen good sales and it upholds the success of Mystikal. I998 was described as something special for him as he made his first guest appearance this year. He chooses the stage for guest appearance on Extinctio
n Level Event of Busta Rhymes. His most successful release was Let's Get Ready which was released in the year 2000. His Let's Get Ready got popularity and it was listed as number one on the Billboard 200.

Another hit was "Bouncin' Back". His typical style of singing is marked in this album. This is a song from the 2001 album "Tarantula" and the song was a fusion of jazz, swing and hip-hop. This album got the nomination for the Grammy Awards, 2003 in the category Best Rap Album. His popular appearances are in the features like "I Don't Give a Fuck" and "Move Bitch".

In the year 2003, he was charged with sexual abuse and extortion. He was found guilty and was sentenced for six years imprisonment .he served his imprisonment in the Louisiana State Prison and he was released in this year on January 14th.

Michael Lawrence Tyler, who is commonly called by the name he adopted for his stage performance "Mystikal". He is born on September 22, 1970.
